This week on Entrecard Thoughts Friday, I need your help again!
I’m considering tossing Project Wonderful. It’s been running for weeks now only to see less than a dollar sitting in our account. Instead, EntreBlast is considering selling ads directly! So, actually there is more than one question this week.
Traffic info: EntreBlast became officially open on March 31st, 2008. It’s been almost two months and we have bounced all the way down to an Alexa traffic ranking of 263,320. And, this is all just from dropping and posting occasionally in the forums. With new features and a big contest in the works for June and July, we plan to keep climbing down.
Answer all of the questions truthfully, and you’ll be rewarded 50 ECs! By ads, we are talking about 125×125 ads on the sidebar. You can enter by commenting on this post or contacting me.

I hve already expressed an interest in advertising on here. I would pay in credits and would offer 500 EC a month, I already pay this on a couple of other Blogs for a months ads. As your site becomes more popular you could start charging more.

=a week first.then if the ad return is good, then I’ll shoot for a month

=before I can gauge a price, It would be really helpful if you can provide a screen shot perhaps of google analytics of your page or any traffic monitoring program you are using. Till then, I am clueless without the stats

1. I’d like to keep it a “social” site. When advertising becomes a high priority, it opens up to porn, spam, and scams.
2.Can’t wait for the day when people realize that an ad spot is worth 300$ cash per month. At 1000 EC ad spot / day on a good site that establishes 1 cent per EC. Checks at 300$ per month (seems like a nice round figure). But not me. And not this site (but figure down from there).
3. An entrecard ad which runs for ONE DAY gets (guessing) 50+ views. The ad runs on 10+ sites? That’s 500 views. Entrecard wins! Other ads would have to run for 2 years to compete.
4. 300$ / month for an ENTRECARD ad (300$ / YEAR for non-entrecard ad).
5. 3000 EC / Month on a great site (200 EC here… yea, per MONTH; but, people are underselling the value of an EC point)!
It takes an hour to get 300 EC points (estimate). That’s only 3$ / hour (at a penny a point). At 3$ for 1000 EC, you’re only making 1$ an hour (did I figure that right?)
Oh, I said 200 EC per month here: That should read 2000 EC! Sorry!
Don’t do the math above, it’s all wrong. My point: 1c per EC and 1000ec per day / ad equals 10$ per day or 300$ per month.

Might consider it, depending how many visitors actually read the site.

No cash, i blog for fun and will not spend real money on it.

A week would work fine. To test. If it works good i can considder longer.

Depends on the number of clicks one would expect to receive trough it. 1-2 ec per expected click.

Perhaps, but I have no plans to advertise yet.

I would pay with ECs first rather than cash, but I’d choose the better deal.

One week as a trial period. If I’m satisfied with the traffic I could purchase a month.
