A Quick 3500 EC Contest

Carl Galloway is holding a quick and easy Entrecard contest on his blog with a total of 3500 ECs put up as prizes. To enter, all you have to do is write a short review of Carl’s blog, linking to the homepage and one other post. It’s got to be at least 150 words long, but that’s really not that hard!

There will be 3 winners, randomly picked, to win the ECs:

1st Prize2000 ECs
2nd Prize1000 ECs
3rd Prize500 ECs

and that’s all that’s really to it! It’s a pretty straightforward contest, and you’ve got until next Tuesday, May 20th, to enter.  Make sure to comment on the contest post in order to be entered in the contest as well.

Contests aren’t your thing?

Carl’s blog is… well… it’s pretty random- from blonde jokes to life in Spain, I’m not sure what exactly Carl blogs about. But, he does provide blog templates for those who use Blogger, Serendipity, or Wordpress platforms as well as tips and tricks with them. I guess you’ll just have to check out Carl Galloway’s blog for yourself!

New Category: Web Comics

Graham has announced the addition of a new category: Web Comics. (Warning- that post might make you tear up a bit.)

Now for those who have a web comic blog, you’ve got your own little cozy category! So far, there are only 4 blogs in the Web Comics category, but I’m sure more will find there way over there. Even though I haven’t come across many web comic blogs besides the 4 that are already listed in the category.

What’s a web comic? Well it’s exactly like the comics section of your Sunday newspaper! Except, it’s online and more are continually added on a blog.

Let’s see how many get added to the new category in the next coming days and weeks. I’d personally be surprised to see more than 20 web comics on Entrecard.

Entrecard Thoughts Friday #2

We missed last week’s Entrecard Thoughts Friday but we’re coming back with our second one ever!

This week’s question has to do with Graham’s announcement of an official Entrecard E-book in the works. Check out that post for more information on the e-book.

Have you submitted something for the Entrecard e-book? If so, do you know if it was picked? If not, why?

Share your thoughts and drop a comment!

Win All of The Sports Dollar’s ECs

The Sports DollarThe Sports Dollar is ending their Entrecard journey, and holding a contest giving away all the ECs they have! 7,500+ ECs are up for grabs and if over 10,000 ECs is reached then they’ll even have second and third place winners as well. With only 15 entrants so far, your chances of winning are looking pretty decent. Here’s how to enter:

The way it works is similar to the Hochstadt Party Contest. For every thing you complete, you’ll earn tickets. The more tickets you have, the greater your chances are of winning!

150 Tickets: For blogging about the contest. Your post must be at least 100 words long and link back to the contest post.

100 Tickets: Put the contest image on your blog linking it back to The Sports Dollar. You can include it in your blog post about it and you’d get 250 tickets for doing both! The image is in this post.

50 Tickets: Subscribe to the RSS feed.

10 Tickets: Stumble the post!

The contest ends May 16th so be sure to enter soon!

Hochstadt.com Contest Winners Announced!

The winners of the Hochstadt.com Party Contest have been announced on their blog. There is a very, very long list of winners so if you entered, you definitely want to check out the winners list post and see if you can find your name in among the list. Hint: Hit CTRL + F and type in the name you used to comment on the Party Contest post, that’s probably the name that’ll be listed in the winners list if you’ve won.

Did EntreBlast win?

We had a lot of entries in the contest, but as we were scrolling through the gigantic list of names ‘Entreblast’ was nowhere in sight… until we reached the bottom and saw this:

Entreblast (cash, ec) won 2,000ec from Joan Joyce of Joan Joyce Dot Com, a One Buck Wiki page at SiteHoppin.com as well as a 10 cards account at SendOutCards.com.

If you didn’t enter, wrong move. There were loads of prizes and a pretty big chance to walk away with something. I won three prizes myself! The ECs I won will be put to good use- I’m saving up to hold a contest once things start to pick up a bit on EntreBlast. Of course, I’ll talk more on this when the time is right.

So, did you win anything?

An Official Entrecard E-book Coming Soon

Graham has posted in the Entrecard Blog about an official Entrecard E-book in production right now! It’ll be jam packed with information and tips and tricks and will be available for download on the Entrecard site once released. Sounds cool huh? Obviously, it won’t do too much for experienced Entrecarders, but for the new guys, it’ll be a great resource for a ton of information compiled into one nifty E-book.

Graham is looking for some strategies and tips to add into the book, going “beyond the basics”. If you want to share your strategy, visit the forums and it just might be added!

Introducing EntreBlast’s Weekly EC Giveaway

That’s right! I’m going to be giving away Entrecredits WEEKLY. If you like contests, and you like free Entrecard credits, look no further. Introducing the Weekly Entrecredit Blast. Here’s how it works:

-Starts every Sunday. On Sunday, I’ll announce last week’s winner and introduce this week’s pot and how to enter.

-The way to enter won’t be the same every week. I’ll switch it up a bit. One week could involve an entrance fee, and another week all you’d have to do it drop.

-The pot is based on two things: the amount of drops received on Entreblast and donations. At least half of the credits earned via drops from the previous week will be put in the pot, if not more. This means you could win a lot of credits once drops build up!

-I’ll guarantee at least 100 ECs in the pot each week.

-Donations are welcome to. Donors will be mentioned in Sunday’s post as well as a link to their profile and blog. If you’d like to donate to the giveaway visit my profile!

-Winner will always be determined purely by random unless otherwise stated.

Week 1 Info:

Welcome to the first week of the Weekly Entrecredit Blast.

Pot: 100 ECs

Sponsors: none

Entrance: All you have to do this week is comment on this post! Yep, simple as that!

A Few Updates to Improve Tracking Speed and Accuracy

Two recent updates have been made that will improve the speed and accuracy for tracking credit balances and drops. Also, there were a few small bug fixes taken care of so if you were experiencing some problems yesterday, this is probably why. From the Entrecard Blog:

1. Fast, accurate credit balance tracking which works even under tricky situations

2. Fast, accurate drop tracking with immediate response – no more waiting for the batch processor to put your drops into the system, and no more drops going mysteriously missing. The new system should be 100% accurate – if your drop didn’t count for any reason, it’ll tell you. Your credits are applied to your balance instantly.

In addition, a number of minor fixes are in place, including one for the RSS feeds – hopefully they’ll start updating properly now.

So for those fast droppers who complained about it taking a while to update the number of drops you’ve made- this shouldn’t be a problem now!
