Into the double digits with Entrecard Thoughts Friday. I just realized I missed last week, I guess due to celebrating the 4th of July!

This week let’s talk about Entrecard’s new weekly feature- the scavenger hunt. Every week a criteria is set and the object is to find blogs that fit this criteria. The first 6 to correctly submit win a prize.

Firefox 3 was officially released last month and has been impressive regarding some changes, fixes, and especially speed. I downloaded Firefox 3 the day it was officially released, June 18th,  and have been impressed on the improvement with web page loading times. I’m sure those who have it downloaded will agree with me! You won’t notice it when loading Google or Yahoo, but when it comes to widget-heavy, poor hosted, blogs- you’ll definitely see the difference!

Firefox 3 has decreased my time spent dropping a lot. I get more drops than I did a month ago, but I’m dropping faster than I did a month ago as well! Perfect timing! With Firefox 2, the website I was browsing on would become laggy after opening three or four blogs that I would drop on once they completely loaded. Now, I can open, in tabs, more than 6 blogs and never experience any laggy. With Firefox 3, you get faster loading times, and no lag. Horray!

So, I recommend that you download Firefox 3 to help improve your dropping experience. Especially if you are one of those 300 drops a day people! I can guarantee your drop time will be shorter. I feel like I’m trying to sell you something! Haha.

If you aren’t a Firefox user already, now is a great time to become one! It is the most popular web browser, and not to mention the best as far as speed, safety, customizable, and the list goes on! Normally, I’m a skeptic when it comes to trying something new and popular, like I was with Entrecard! I didn’t join until a few months ago. Firefox was something I surprisingly got into early and and relieved I chose to do it sooner- I can’t stand Internet Explorer now!

There will always be a rivalry between IE and FF, but not a competition.

Hey! This is our first edition of EntreBlast Site News. Occasionally, I’ll write a post like this to give updates and information on the happenings around the blog! I hate the feeling of being distant from my readers. So, here we go!

This is something I’m very excited about. I have finally dropped Project Wonderful from my blog. Making 30 cents a month won’t get me anywhere! I probably will look to further monetizing my blog later on. The last thing I want to do is scare people away with a bunch of ads everywhere!

Summer Credit Splash Update

We have hit the 15,000 EC mark for the pot total! This came way faster than expected, but nonetheless I’m happy. One 5,000 EC donation has been received, and several 1,000 EC donations have been sent our way. Thanks guys! I decided to include the pot total count on the sidebar, and will update regularly.

Oh, and it’s definitely not to late to donate! I’ll be setting a goal to hit and the contest will start once that goal is reached. I want this to be big! If you donate you’ll be rewarded with links back!

New Feed Image

Something very minor but I’ve replaced the poor quality EntreBlast feed image with something a bit nicer. I finally have a better image-editing software and the first thing was to toss that old feed image.

With the recent post, “Promoting Your Blog With Digg“, Graham is looking to form an Entrecard community on Digg consisting of at least 200 members. Graham’s digg username is EntreLangdon, and we are well on our way to achieving the 200 member goal. Graham currently has 55 friends and I’m sure by the end of today he’ll have around 200.

Join Digg!

Digg is a great way to find interesting articles and even submit your own in hopes of getting “Dugg” and noticed. The goal here is get fellow Entrecarders using Digg and start Digging posts they enjoyed reading from blogs they’ve dropped on. Digg is free to join and use and can provide you with a new source of traffic.
