Next Test: CMF Ads?
Alright, well now that my one month experiment with Adgitize is over, I have been looking into CMF Ads. I’m considering testing it out on EntreBlast. I’m hoping many of you found the experiment with Adgitize to be beneficial and helpful. Another popular ad platform out there is CMF Ads. I’ve seen it nearly as much as I’ve seen Adgitize ads on blogs, maybe even more.
Let me know your thoughts on CMF Ads, and on the experiment I did with Adgitize. When I return from vacation, I will implement CMF Ads onto EntreBlast and I will run a one month trial on it. Like always, I will post the results and draw a conclusion.
Stay tuned!

I have tried using CMF ads. I’ve not earned a huge amount off them. I find the problem is getting advertisers. If you take a look at the way it works, advertisers have to spend credits (which you can either cash out with or spend on your own ads) on your site. If they don’t you end up with a bunch of blank “Advertise Here” spots, which looks cheap and deters further advertisers.
I’m sure it can work, just getting off the ground can take a while.
Good point. It’s how it works with private advertising as well though. No one wants to be the first to try it out. When I first opened up the option for people to buy one month ads on my site directly, the ads were open for a while. Now, the spots are full and I even have one already ready to go for when an ad expires.
I think a CMF trial would be better as a longer-term test, because the ad-buying and payment system is monthly. That is, you’re buying ads that run for 1 month and you’re getting paid for ads you display after 1 month. So it would probably be better to run a longer trial so we can see, for instance, how much you would be able to make as a publisher on CMF and how many ads you could buy with that.
I forgot about that. That’s a great suggestion. I’ll do either a three or six month trial, in order to get the best results.
I read in the Adgitize blog already a conclusion from Eli G. from http://businessphereconsulting.com/, you can read it here http://www.adgitize.net/blog/2009/07/08/a-great-day-for-adgitize-publishers/#comments
It’s also mentioned about Project Wonderful.
And it’s true most of the members of CMF Ads say, you have to be active in their forum so that other members recognize you and put their ads/buy your advertising space, otherwise you end with unattractive empty adspace on your blog. The other things is you get the credits one month later, so you have to buy in advance credits (you can cashout them only for 50% of your buying value!!).
That’s one of the reasons why i didn’t choose CMF Ads yet. Adgitize gives you 3.000 visitor each month for 14$ and you can get back the money. And another good reason for Adgitize is that it’s not only shown on one blog (like with CMF Ads!) but on 1.500 different blogs!
Just got paid out 24,87$ from Adgitize… see the payment proof by clicking on my nickname.
How to maximize your earnings in Adgitize
Good luck with CMF Ads, let’s see the results in three months, keep continuing renewing ads in Adgitize!
Thanks for your point of view from an advertiser’s perspective. I don’t think I’ll be purchasing credits, so I’ll only be looking from a publisher’s view. Maybe once I build some credits I might try advertising. Although CMF ads aren’t widespread across all of the blogs, it allows advertisers to target similar blogs to advertise on, which is how private advertising and other systems work, like Entrecard.
I am using both and CMF is awesome. The admin is qucik and always working to help make things better for their users.
I asked about adding a 1×5 widget column and all I had to do was put the question out in the premium forum to see what type of feedback I received and they added it. So for the blogs with a narrow side bar you can now advertise 5 CMF cards at a time:)
I have also seen a faster revenue with CMF as I do with Adgetize:)
That’s great, I’m glad it’s working for you! Thanks for your comment, and I hope I find positive results as well.
Thanks for sharing your Adgitize experience. I signed up with them as a publisher (not an advertiser) and have experienced approx. 20% increase in traffic to my blog.

Awesome! I’m interested in seeing if I receive in increase in traffic just for being an advertiser as well.
I am using them and had four ad spots filled within the first week. All you need to do is a little participation in the forums and you get advertisers. At least whatever we earn is guaranteed. It may not be a fortune but it’s something and again you get to know other bloggers.
That’s true. I’ve posted a few times on the forum so I hope that’ll help me get some advertisers quick.
