Testing Out CMF Ads

Today marks the official first day of my experiment with CMF Ads. CMF Ads is an advertising platform for bloggers, similar to Adgitize. A little while ago I ran a one month test with Adgitize and found really good results, so I’ve been sticking with them. However, I always am looking for new things to test out, and as with Adgitize I see CMF Ads pretty often on blogs. Thanks to suggestions from my readers, I have decided to test for a full six months. This is because the system is a bit different from Adgitize and I would get the best results of a long term experiment. I will report my results and findings every month and after the six months, I determine whether CMF Ads is worth using or not.

You’ll see a follow up post in a few days with more information on how CMF Ads works.

Oh yeah I was thinking for CMF for quite a while too but I have so much going on that I fear I do not have time with this. So if I see the results are better than Adgitize, then I might hop in and join. ;-)

CMF is a nice system. It doesn’t bring me nearly the traffic I get from Adgitize or Entrecard, but the forums are great and the traffic is easy. It doesn’t require any work and the people in network are nice.

I’m sure if I was more active in the forums I would get better results. But I have no complaints with it.

I am wondering; today is your first day of the experiment – but in your stats on CMF it does mention “Ads Completed; 1″ ….. which should mean that you are running CMF for a month now…..
    Or am I mistaken…??

I’m not sure. I noticed it said 1 as soon as the first ad was purchased. I’ve never used CMF Ads before and have no credits in my account, so I don’t know why it says that.

      • I know now the solution to the “1 ad completed” as i’m a new member of CMF ads since yesterday, too :-)

It just means that the “House ad” of CMF is completed after you have sold the first ad to another member. In this case the “House ad” on the ad space is expired and completed. In the Ad history you see that they “advertise” for the price of 0.00$ which means, you don’t get a credit for it, but you have already 1 ad completed!

Solution found… no glitch in the program (but i guess they shouldn’t mention the 1 ad completed at all, confusing for new members *lol*)!

Well; we found “a problem” within CMF then uh…?? ;)

    • Perhaps it has to do with the timezone. Entreblast started on 1st of August but CMF Timezone was 31st July and now it’s August and they calculate already one month for it?

I guess every program has its glitches. Adgitize with its feedreader, EntreCard with its server, CMF with calculation *lol*

  • Grampy says:

I’ll add you to my EC-Adgitize page as soon as possible.

  • I have seen huge increases in my traffic from EntreCard and Adgitize when I am active. The question still remains in regards to the quality of the traffic. All of these methods have given me high bounce rates but, poor traffic is better than none.

Just like in real estate everything is location, location, location; blogs need traffic, traffic, traffic!

I wouldn’t compare CMF with Entrecard or Adgitize – it’s a straight ad network meaning that you purchase ads and you accept ads. There’s no clicking or scheming involved.

Good luck with the experiment and welcome aboard.
