Technical Difficulties on EntreBlast

Excuse us for a moment. Looks like we’re experiencing some techncial difficulties on EntreBlast. None of the internal links are working. Clicking to view comments, older posts, categories, pages, anything. None of them are working. If you click on a link, it’ll give you a ‘Not Found’ page.

I have no idea why all of a sudden this is happening but I’ll update this post when it’s fixed. I’m working to get this problem solved. Hang tight, and sorry for the problems!

Update: Everything’s working again!

19 RSS Subscribers – WHAT?

19 RSS ReadersSo, yesterday I get up and do my normal routine online – checking e-mails, checking on EntreBlast, and responding to comments left on EntreBlast. Wait a second! Well, while I was responding to a comment left on a post, I noticed my subscriber count only showed 19 subscribers. Woah there! How could this possibly be true?

That’s a 72% decrease to my normal 60 – 68 subscribers. Now, I know I didn’t have 40 people unsubscribe overnight (why would they?) so I went over to feedburner.com and checked my stats. Here’s what the chart looked like:
Feedburner Goof
Now, at first glance everything looked normal. Usually, if my subscriber count is unusually low for one day it’s because Google’s feedfetcher usually fails to report. However, in comparison to the pie chart of the day before, a huge chunk of the pie chart is actually missing. Google doesn’t account for most of my RSS subscribers. Instead, feedburner’s RSS by e-mail subscriptions do. And that was what was missing from yesterday!

It’s important to always make sure everything is functioning properly and if not, investigate why. Also, if you’re feedburner count was really low yesterday, or if you’re feedburner count is every abnormally low for the usual, then go to feedburner.com and check the stats. Usually, it’s not your fault if this happens!

In other, EntreBlast-related news, I have enabled threaded comments so I and you guys can reply to comments.

Ad Prices on EntreBlast Slashed!

Our ad spots are finally opening up and with that, I have slashed the ad prices for EntreBlast. There are only 4 sidebar ad spots available and at a great spot right along the content. These ads appear on every page and rotate between the four spots, so everyone receives equal and maximum exposure.

Right now, you can purchase a 125×125 ad spot for just $5! Or you can pay with Entrecard credits for just 500 ECs! Your ad will be shown for a full 30 days.

Buying an ad spot is simple. Click on an empty spot that says  ‘Your EntreAd Here’ and fill out the form! The process is automated and your ad will be live as soon as you make the purchase. Or you can click here to purchase an ad on EntreBlast.

Introducing EntreBlast v2.0

Hello!

Welcome to EntreBlast version 2.0! I’ve finally decided to give EntreBlast a little makeover. With this theme, everything seems to be a bit more organized and the look is a lot sleeker and appealing. The last theme was a great, free theme I found but now that I am offering Wordpress theme design services, it only makes sense to show off what I can do!

This also is a little gift to myself to celebrate EntreBlast’s one year anniversary! EntreBlast was launched March 16th, 2008 and we kinda forgot to celebrate it. Now that EntreBlast is alive again, here’s our acknowledgement to it’s one year birthday.

Comment, and give me your feedback on the new design.

P.S – You can get a custom made Wordpress theme like this one too.

Placing Entrecard Ads on Your Blog

That’s right! I am looking to do some advertising, and I have a bunch of Entrecard credits I want to use to do so. I will advertise via Entrecard on one of your blogs, no matter what the cost is, as long as you are a subscribed member of EntreBlast. This will not only boost your ad price, but put some Entrecard credits in your pocket as well! You must be subscribed via e-mail. I thought about having this open only for current subscribers, but thought it’d be fair to give everyone the opportunity to subscribe, so they can receive access to new posts, and cool things like this via e-mail as well!

To subscribe, simply enter your e-mail address below:

Enter your email address:

Don’t worry, the e-mail subscription service is handled through Feedburner, meaning you’ll only receive new posts via e-mail and nothing else. I hate spam too!

To participate, just drop a comment on this post! Make sure the e-mail address field matches the one you used to subscribe with, and the link to your site is a member of Entrecard. If so, I’ll visit your profile through your site and place an ad! But hurry, you only have until this Friday to do so!

See, told ya it was a good idea to subscribe to EntreBlast!

Stay Subscribed to EntreBlast

The Summer Credit Splash contest may be over, but that doesn’t mean things will slow down here. Entrecard news will continue, announcing other Entrecard contests will start up again, and the tips, tricks, guides, and interviews won’t stop.

In addition to receiving Entrecard news, contests, and more via e-mail or your favorite RSS reader, you’ll also be getting the good things that will come along before anyone else reads it on here. For example, since the last huge EC contest went SO well, I want to do another one, don’t you? We’ll talk more on that soon. But, the benefit of being subscribed is that you’ll always be automatically entered in EntreBlast’s contests. Subscribing via e-mail will always be a requirement to joining in on our contests, so if for some crazy reason you have decided to stop reading EntreBlast, at least you’ll still be entered in the contests!

So don’t unsubscribe from EntreBlast just because the first contest is over. There is so much more to come! And if you aren’t subscribed yet, it’s best that you subscribe to EntreBlast now;)

Winners of the Summer Credit Splash

Yes! It is finally here. Sorry for torturing all those that entered the contest to win a whopping 36,000 ECs. I have been super busy with school but I did promise I would give the winners this week! I could blab all day but don’t you want to know who the winners are?

There are 6 winners, each getting a nice share of the 36,000 EC total prize.

1st Place – The winner of 17,000 ECs goes to…

Wiehanne at Wiehanne Contest

A HUGE Congratulations!

2nd Place – The winner of 10,000 ECs goes to…

Kirhat at Nesting Buddy

10,000 ECs, not bad at all!

3rd Place – 6,000 ECs goes to…

Mark at World Wide Travel Blog

We see this name too often around here. Looks like being a regular sponsor pays off!

4th Place – 2,000 Entrecard Credits goes to…

bm at Blog Contest

5th Place – The winner of one of the 500 EC prizes is…

Louis Liem of Bukiki.com

6th Place – The other 500 EC winner is…

Ruben at Very Cool News

Congratulations to all the winners! Your prize will be sent tomorrow. Thank you to everyone that participated in EntreBlast’s first contest, and even though it took a lot of time to organize and pick the winners, I plan on holding another one in the near future. Thanks again to the sponsors who were able to make this HUGE contest possible!

Last Day to Enter the Summer Credit Splash

That’s right. Today is your last day to enter the Summer Credit Splash if you haven’t yet. Once you are done, report how many points you have and post it here. I noticed people started to post how many on points they had on the original post, and that’s fine too. One mistake people are making though is giving themselves 5 points for blogging about the contest and also the 10 points for blogging about the contest and listing all sponsors. You cannot earn points for both, you either blogged about it or you blogged about it and listed the sponsors. So if you think you have 15 points, you actually will receive 10 points from that.

If you have not reported how many points you have, please do so by Saturday. Either comment on this post or the original. Do not comment on both.

I will announce the winners next week. Good luck and thanks for participating!

Entrecard Thoughts Friday #16

Entrecard’s been quite, and our Summer Credit Splash is almost over, so this week we’ve got a really interesting question:

If you won the 17,000 first place prize, what would you do with it? Sell it? Hold your own contest? Advertise everywhere? Or slowly spend the ECs on ads and sponsoring contests?

Entrecard Thoughts Friday #15

In my interview with Graham, when I asked about what is in the future for the forums, he responded with a simple :) . Here are this week’s questions:

What do you think is in store for the forums? What do you think about the forums right now? Do you use them?

My prediction is that the forums are going to be moved onto a vBulletin forum. A lot of users have voted in the polls on the Entrecard blog, asking for a vBuilletin forum. It would make forum usage a lot better!
