Your Help Is Needed – EntreBlast Top Dropper List
I’m adding a new page to EntreBlast - a list of blogs who reward their top droppers monthly. Requirements for joining this list: post your top droppers every month and have done it for at least three months. The purpose of this list is to reward those who reward their top droppers and to encourage Entrecard users to drop on these blogs for some backlinks.
I need your help! If you reward your top droppers, submit a comment and let me know! In order to join the top droppers list, you must have done this for at least three months. I’ll check through your blog to make sure you have. If you haven’t, no worries! Start this month and three months will pass before you know it. It’s a great way to encourage daily dropping on your blog!
Top Commentators Plugin is Back
With my old theme, I had a top commentators plugin that I used to reward my readers for commenting on posts. When I uploaded my new theme, I forgot all about the plugin. But, it’s back now. Even without the plugin, I’ve received a lot of comments lately and have had more participation in my posts than when I used the plugin! That just goes to show my posts are worthy enough to grab the attention of my droppers, and I appreciate that!
Now, there is some extra motivation for commenting on my posts. The top 8 commentators will be listed along with their website in the sidebar. The list will reset monthly so if you’re on there, you could be on there for a while. Just another way of saying thanks to my readers and commentators!
EntreBlast Ad Price to Rise
When I decided to bring EntreBlast back to life after a few months of not posting anything – I set my ad prices to just 500 ECs in order to regain advertising interest. It’s been over three months and I have not increased the cost, meaning those who are currently advertising are getting a super cheap deal. The price of advertising on the Entrecard widget is around 256 ECs for just one day! That means by purchasing an ad on EntreBlast, they are getting their moneys worth (or ECs worth) in less than two days time.
EntreBlast has grown a lot in the past three months after coming back alive. EntreBlast now receives over 100 visitors a day and over 3,500 visitors a month. It has an Alexa ranking of 93,754.
With that said, the price for a one month ad will be rising to 1000 ECs. Well, technically 999.99 ECs because Entrecard has ridiculous, annoying trading limits that I don’t understand. However, the price in dollars will not rise. It will still be the extremely low low price of $5. Of course, I prefer to be paid in real money rather than Entrecard credits, which is why I’m not raising this price. Either way, you’re still going to get your money’s worth in just a few days.
The cost of a one month ad in Entrecard credits will become 999.99 ECs starting Friday, July 24th. This gives you three days to jump on the opportunity of purchasing a one month ad for just 500 ECs. When you have purchased an ad, it will be placed in a queue and will appear on EntreBlast once an ad spot opens up (starting the 24th). Your 30 days won’t start until it becomes live, so don’t worry.

EntreBlast Milestone – Under the Alexa 100k
This week while I was on vacation, EntreBlast has hit a HUGE milestone. EntreBlast’s Alexa ranking is under 100,000! As of today, EntreBlast is ranked 94,159. It has been going down (which is a good thing) steadily ever since I revived EntreBlast just a few months ago. For those who have been around EntreBlast since the beginning, you probably remember when EntreBlast died for a couple of months without any new posts. The Alexa ranking slowly rose up in the 400,000’s. It’s really easy to hit under 100,000 when you are first starting a new website or blog. But, it is more difficult for an established site. EntreBlast is over a year old!
Many think that Alexa rankings don’t really mean anything and the system isn’t accurate. Well, it IS a ranking that bloggers go by to show the popularity of their blog, and it still works. The top 100,000 is a milestone that many look to reach, and I hope that you do! For me, this is also a personal milestone. I have a couple of blogs and have had a couple of active blogs that have made it very close to breaking the top 100k mark, but never made it. So, whether you approve of the ranking system or not, I personally find it as an accomplishment.
Thanks to all of my readers who return regularly and are subscribed to EntreBlast.
No Dropping From Me This Week (Again)
Yes, another week without me being able to drop with Entrecard. This time however, I am in Canada visiting family. I’ll be online more than I was when I went on vacation last week to the beach, but still not often enough and I won’t be able to do any dropping. I’ll be back the 11th. This is the last vacation I am going on until November, so I’ll be around for a while without interruptions after this!
I would appreciate it if you continued to drop on me because top droppers receive a link to their blog at the end of the month!
Oh, and don’t worry – I have prepared in advance new posts for this week. Just because I’m gone doesn’t mean EntreBlast will be dead!
Technical Difficulties on EntreBlast
Excuse us for a moment. Looks like we’re experiencing some techncial difficulties on EntreBlast. None of the internal links are working. Clicking to view comments, older posts, categories, pages, anything. None of them are working. If you click on a link, it’ll give you a ‘Not Found’ page.
I have no idea why all of a sudden this is happening but I’ll update this post when it’s fixed. I’m working to get this problem solved. Hang tight, and sorry for the problems!
Update: Everything’s working again!
19 RSS Subscribers – WHAT?
So, yesterday I get up and do my normal routine online – checking e-mails, checking on EntreBlast, and responding to comments left on EntreBlast. Wait a second! Well, while I was responding to a comment left on a post, I noticed my subscriber count only showed 19 subscribers. Woah there! How could this possibly be true?
That’s a 72% decrease to my normal 60 – 68 subscribers. Now, I know I didn’t have 40 people unsubscribe overnight (why would they?) so I went over to feedburner.com and checked my stats. Here’s what the chart looked like:

Now, at first glance everything looked normal. Usually, if my subscriber count is unusually low for one day it’s because Google’s feedfetcher usually fails to report. However, in comparison to the pie chart of the day before, a huge chunk of the pie chart is actually missing. Google doesn’t account for most of my RSS subscribers. Instead, feedburner’s RSS by e-mail subscriptions do. And that was what was missing from yesterday!
It’s important to always make sure everything is functioning properly and if not, investigate why. Also, if you’re feedburner count was really low yesterday, or if you’re feedburner count is every abnormally low for the usual, then go to feedburner.com and check the stats. Usually, it’s not your fault if this happens!
In other, EntreBlast-related news, I have enabled threaded comments so I and you guys can reply to comments.
Ad Prices on EntreBlast Slashed!
Our ad spots are finally opening up and with that, I have slashed the ad prices for EntreBlast. There are only 4 sidebar ad spots available and at a great spot right along the content. These ads appear on every page and rotate between the four spots, so everyone receives equal and maximum exposure.
Right now, you can purchase a 125×125 ad spot for just $5! Or you can pay with Entrecard credits for just 500 ECs! Your ad will be shown for a full 30 days.
Buying an ad spot is simple. Click on an empty spot that says ‘Your EntreAd Here’ and fill out the form! The process is automated and your ad will be live as soon as you make the purchase. Or you can click here to purchase an ad on EntreBlast.
Introducing EntreBlast v2.0
Hello!
Welcome to EntreBlast version 2.0! I’ve finally decided to give EntreBlast a little makeover. With this theme, everything seems to be a bit more organized and the look is a lot sleeker and appealing. The last theme was a great, free theme I found but now that I am offering Wordpress theme design services, it only makes sense to show off what I can do!
This also is a little gift to myself to celebrate EntreBlast’s one year anniversary! EntreBlast was launched March 16th, 2008 and we kinda forgot to celebrate it. Now that EntreBlast is alive again, here’s our acknowledgement to it’s one year birthday.
Comment, and give me your feedback on the new design.
P.S – You can get a custom made Wordpress theme like this one too.
Placing Entrecard Ads on Your Blog
That’s right! I am looking to do some advertising, and I have a bunch of Entrecard credits I want to use to do so. I will advertise via Entrecard on one of your blogs, no matter what the cost is, as long as you are a subscribed member of EntreBlast. This will not only boost your ad price, but put some Entrecard credits in your pocket as well! You must be subscribed via e-mail. I thought about having this open only for current subscribers, but thought it’d be fair to give everyone the opportunity to subscribe, so they can receive access to new posts, and cool things like this via e-mail as well!
To subscribe, simply enter your e-mail address below:
Don’t worry, the e-mail subscription service is handled through Feedburner, meaning you’ll only receive new posts via e-mail and nothing else. I hate spam too!
To participate, just drop a comment on this post! Make sure the e-mail address field matches the one you used to subscribe with, and the link to your site is a member of Entrecard. If so, I’ll visit your profile through your site and place an ad! But hurry, you only have until this Friday to do so!
See, told ya it was a good idea to subscribe to EntreBlast!
